304 vs 316 Stainless Steel Hose Clamps
Grade 304 is widely used for general industrial, automotive, water and outdoor applications. Grade 316 provides improved resistance in chloride-rich, coastal, marine and some chemical environments. The correct grade depends on exposure, temperature, cleaning chemicals, service life and the consequence of clamp failure.
Buyers should specify whether only the band is stainless or whether the band, housing and screw must all use a stated stainless grade. Mixed-material clamps may look similar but behave differently in corrosive service.
Band, Housing and Screw Design
