The term precision ball does not by itself define a universal tolerance. Buyers should specify nominal diameter, permitted diameter variation, sphericity, surface roughness, hardness and inspection method. A ball for a spring detent may have different requirements from a valve sealing element or measuring device. Manufacturing and Surface Finishing
Depending on diameter, tolerance and volume, production may begin from wire or formed blanks. Quality Control and Documentation

Can you supply tighter diameter and roundness tolerances?
Yes, subject to manufacturing review. Please provide the required tolerance class or numerical limits rather than only describing the ball as precision grade.
Is 316 stainless steel available?
Other stainless grades can be reviewed according to corrosion conditions, mechanical requirements, diameter and volume.
Can the balls be used in bearings?
Only when the required bearing material, hardness, grade, roundness, surface finish and test standards are specified and verified. The standard 304 product should not be assumed to meet bearing-grade requirements.
