Why Use an Extra Thick Large OD Washer?
A standard washer may deform or concentrate pressure when it is installed over a large clearance hole, a slot, thin sheet metal, wood, composites or other relatively soft mating surfaces. Increasing both outside diameter and thickness creates a more stable bearing face and can reduce local indentation. The final washer geometry should still be selected from the actual joint design, bolt size, preload, mating material and allowable bearing stress.

Quality Control and Engineering Review
Inspection can cover material grade, inside and outside diameter, thickness, flatness, concentricity, edge condition and surface finish. These flat washers are not spring washers and do not provide a locking function by themselves. Load capacity, torque, preload and joint safety must be confirmed against the customer drawing and application requirements.

Are these washers suitable for locking a bolted joint?
No locking function should be assumed. These are load-distributing flat washers. Any anti-loosening requirement must be addressed by the complete fastener and joint design.
