304 stainless steel camlock couplings, also known as cam and groove couplings, create a quick detachable connection between hoses, pumps, tanks and process equipment. The two cam arms on the female coupler lock around the groove of the male adapter, allowing an operator to connect or disconnect a line without threading the complete assembly each time.

Camlock Coupling Types and Connection Options
The correct type is selected by matching the camlock end to the required hose or pipe interface. AODSON can manufacture and assemble the following common configurations:
| Type | Connection | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| A | Male camlock adapter with female pipe thread | Connect a female-threaded port to a camlock hose |
| B | Female camlock coupler with male pipe thread | Connect a threaded inlet or outlet to a male adapter |
| C | Female camlock coupler with hose shank | Flexible hose assembly with a locking female coupler |
| D | Female camlock coupler with female pipe thread | Threaded equipment and manifold connections |
| E | Male camlock adapter with hose shank | Flexible hose assembly with a male adapter |
| F | Male camlock adapter with male pipe thread | Male-threaded equipment connection |
| DC / DP | Dust cap / dust plug | Protect an uncoupled line from dirt and debris |

Materials, Seals and Manufacturing
The products shown are made from 304 stainless steel. For chloride exposure, marine service or more aggressive process media, 316 stainless steel can be evaluated. Bodies are typically produced by investment casting, followed by CNC machining of threads and sealing features, deburring, assembly and optional passivation.
Seal material is selected for the fluid and operating temperature. Common choices include NBR, EPDM, FKM and PTFE-based seals. Material compatibility must be confirmed against the actual chemical concentration, temperature and cleaning procedure before an order is approved.
Available Customization

- Passivation, marking, individual packaging and inspection documents

Typical Applications
Stainless steel cam and groove fittings are used in water-transfer equipment, agricultural irrigation, pumps, tank outlets, washdown systems, food-processing support equipment and compatible industrial fluid lines. The coupling material, gasket, hose, clamp and mating connection must all be suitable for the same operating conditions.
Pressure and Safety Considerations
Working pressure cannot be determined from appearance or nominal size alone. It depends on coupling size, body material, temperature, seal, hose construction, end connection and the applicable product standard. A complete assembly should be pressure-tested to the customer-approved specification. Standard dust caps and dust plugs should not be treated as pressure-retaining closures unless the selected design is specifically rated and verified.
Camlock couplings must not be used for compressed gas, steam, hazardous media or critical service unless the complete assembly has been engineered, rated and approved for that duty. Locking pins or safety clips can be specified where accidental cam-arm opening is a concern.
Quality Control
Inspection can cover material identity, casting condition, critical dimensions, cam-arm engagement, thread gauges, sealing surfaces, gasket condition and assembly function. Leak testing, hydrostatic testing, material certificates and inspection reports are available when the required test method and acceptance criteria are defined on the purchase specification.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can AODSON supply a complete hose coupling set?
Yes. Matching male and female camlock components, gaskets, cam arms, pins, dust caps and dust plugs can be supplied as a customer-approved set.
Are BSP and NPT threads interchangeable?
No. Their thread form and sealing method differ. The required standard must be confirmed before production.
Can the coupling be made in 316 stainless steel?
Yes. 316 stainless steel can be quoted for more demanding corrosion environments, subject to size, quantity and specification.
What is needed to confirm the working pressure?
Please provide the complete assembly details, operating temperature, fluid, hose specification, connection type and applicable test standard. A pressure value should only be published after these conditions are validated.
