Custom Stainless Steel Flanged Braided Flexible Metal Hoses
AODSON supplies custom stainless steel flanged braided flexible metal hose assemblies for piping systems that require vibration isolation, controlled movement accommodation or a flexible connection between fixed equipment. The construction combines an internal corrugated metal hose, an external wire braid and welded flange ends.
Hose diameter, active length, braid layers, corrugation design, flange dimensions, sealing face, material and welding requirements are selected from the approved piping specification. Pressure, temperature and movement capacity are engineering values for the complete assembly and must be confirmed for each application.

Design and Ordering Considerations
Specify nominal diameter, overall and active length, hose and braid materials, number of braid layers, flange standard and rating, sealing face, bolt-hole orientation, design pressure, design temperature, fluid medium, vacuum conditions, expected movement, vibration frequency and installation geometry. Axial, lateral and angular movements should not be combined beyond the approved assembly capability.
The hose should not be used to correct excessive piping misalignment or carry unsupported equipment loads. Minimum bend radius, torsion control, installation guides and anchors must be reviewed as part of the complete piping system.
Key Features
- Flexible corrugated core: accommodates defined movement and helps isolate equipment vibration.
- External stainless steel braid: restrains pressure thrust and protects the corrugated hose.
- Welded flange ends: provide a bolted piping connection with drawing-specified sealing faces.
- Custom assembly length: active length and end-to-end dimensions can be matched to installation requirements.
- Material selection: 304 and 316-series stainless steels can be reviewed for corrosion and temperature conditions.
Typical Applications
- Pump, compressor and rotating equipment connections
- Process piping, utility lines and skid-mounted systems
- Steam, hot water, chilled water and thermal-fluid services
- Chemical, food, pharmaceutical and water-treatment equipment
- OEM machinery requiring controlled flexible piping connections
Quality Control and Inspection
Inspection can include material verification, hose and braid dimensions, weld examination, flange dimensions, bolt-hole orientation, overall length, surface condition and marking. Leakage or pressure testing, PMI, weld records and other project documentation can be arranged when the applicable procedure and acceptance criteria are specified. Frequently Asked Questions
Can the flange standard and hose length be customized?
Yes. Flange dimensions, sealing face, bolt pattern, overall length and active hose length can be produced to the approved specification.
How is the pressure rating determined?
It depends on hose diameter, corrugation design, material, braid construction, end fittings, welds, temperature and the governing standard. The rating must be confirmed for the complete assembly.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide nominal diameter, length, hose and braid materials, flange details, pressure, temperature, medium, expected movement, quantity and required testing.
