Forged Stainless Steel 3000LB Threaded Pipe Caps
AODSON supplies forged stainless steel female threaded pipe caps for closing the ends of threaded process lines, manifolds and equipment connections. The product shown uses a thick-wall cylindrical body, a closed end and an internal NPT thread, with markings identifying 304 stainless steel and the 3000LB class.
The 3000LB designation is a fitting pressure class rather than a universal 3000 psi working-pressure guarantee. Allowable service pressure depends on the governing standard, material, size, temperature, thread engagement, medium and complete piping design.

Design and Ordering Considerations
Specify material grade, nominal pipe size, thread standard, pressure class, dimensional standard, service temperature, fluid medium and any inspection or traceability requirements. For ASME B16.11-style threaded fittings, the required edition and project specification should be stated on the purchase order. Correct thread sealant, engagement and installation torque must be selected by the piping designer or installer.
Key Features
- Closed-end termination: seals an unused female-compatible threaded pipe or equipment connection.
- Thick forged body: designed for compact, robust threaded piping assemblies.
- Internal pipe thread: NPT configuration is shown, with alternative thread forms available by specification.
- Permanent identification: size, material, thread and class markings can be applied to approved requirements.
- Material choice: 304, 316L and other corrosion-resistant grades can be reviewed for the service environment.
Typical Applications
- Process piping and utility line terminations
- Hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation systems
- Manifolds, valve assemblies and pressure equipment connections
- Chemical, food, water-treatment and general industrial installations
- OEM skids and fabricated piping packages
Quality Control and Inspection
Inspection can include material identification, dimensional checks, internal thread gauging, surface examination, marking verification and review of heat or batch traceability. PMI, mechanical test records, passivation documentation and other project-specific inspection can be agreed before production. Learn more about AODSON quality control and inspection.
OEM Customization and RFQ Requirements

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 3000LB the same as a 3000 psi working pressure?
No. 3000LB is a fitting class designation. Actual allowable pressure must be determined from the applicable standard, material, size, temperature and complete piping design.
Are both NPT and BSPT threads available?
The product shown is marked NPT. BSPT/Rc and other thread forms can be reviewed when the required standard, gauge and dimensions are specified.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide nominal size, material grade, thread standard, pressure class, dimensional standard, quantity, markings and any inspection or certification requirements.
